FRIENDS FOR LIFE

On Tuesday night I met Melinda (in the middle) and Connie (left) for dinner.  I have known Melinda since kindergarten and we met Connie in junior high.  All these years later we still get together, whether I travel to California or Colorado or they come home for a visit, we always get together.  There is never a quiet moment as we giggle and catch up on our families.  Melinda was in town because both of her parents are having health issues....Connie was here to down size her parents.  Yes, we are at that age when we have raised our children and now help our parents.  I thank the Lord for my dear friends!!!
Yesterday I ordered the instructions for this whirligig and paper house from http://hutchstudio.blogspot.com/
Check our their blog, it is so CUTE!!!
Here's some more whirligig's Chris the curator makes....FABULOUS!!!

INSPIRATION

I have an inspiration file on my computer.  When I see something I love I often drag it down and stuff it in my photo album.  It's there when I need some ideas....maybe for form or color or just a good laugh.  Hope you enjoy!!!

FUNKY JUNK SISTERS....again!!!

My BFF, MaryBeth and I needed a junk fix so Friday we meet in the middle at Puyallup and went to the Funky Junk Sisters show.  Our husbands are best buddies so we had dinner together, then they dropped us off at the Junk show and went to see Fast Five....whatever!!! I love this show because it's not to big and not to little.  It took us three hours to get through everything and in the morning "I had to" return for one more item.
Enjoy the pictures...

COOKIES!!!!

Last night I made a new cookie recipe that is low fat...and it tasted GOOD!!! I found it at www.skinnytaste.com Here is a picture and the recipe.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES

Mix together:
2 Tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 tsp vanilla

Then add:
1 cup flour...I used Bob's Red Mill whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cups quick oats
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.  They are suppose to make 3 dozen but I made 2 dozen nice sized cookies.

CARIBBEAN, NOW LIFE

We took a cruise on the Caribbean a week ago and had a beautiful, sunny, warm and restful time.  My goal every year is "not to wear a bathing suit" and since I am no longer svelte getting me into a suit is a big occasion.  The beautiful warm blue water and white sand called to me....so I dawned my suit and dove in.
My favorite thing on the trip was competing in a regatta race with two other boats...what a thrill!!!
Now we're back home and "real" life starts again....mowing the lawn, washing the dogs, shampooing the carpets, and planting the flower beds.   Oh well...I love the travel but there's no place like home!
