GARDEN DAYS

Last week my BFF came to visit and we spent two days looking at garden art, flower pots, and beautiful plants.  Tuesday we went to Cracked Pots at McMenamins in Troutdale, where we saw the Rebots and garden arts.  The artist have to use old, crusty reused items to make their art.
You can see in the picture the rabbit is made out of an old sewing machine.  I loved this piece and of course it sold quickly.  Check out the purple poppies...I've never seen this color before.

I LOVE JEWELRY

This jewelry is made by Jennifer Haynen of Jangles.   I ordered a kit from her and can't wait to make my necklace.  She makes and paints ceramic beads and combines them with other things, including felted beads and sometimes found objects.  Jennifer has her own web site and is on ETSY.  You can find her here at http://www.jangles.net   Have fun!!!

MY FAVORITE ANIMAL

These little puppies are my favorite dog!!  My dog's name is Maggie and she is now 8 years old.  When learning about this breed I found out that they are "man's laziest dog" and knew that that was the dog for me.

HOT TODAY!!!

It's 100 here in Portland today...third day in a row, but today was the worst because our air conditioning broke last night.  I had a SLIGHT bad attitude, because it can't be fixed until tomorrow.  So I decided to make Oatmeal Scones.  These are the best.  Here's the recipe:
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teas. baking soda
1 teas. baking powder
1/2 teas. salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup oatmeal, quick kind
l/3 cup yogurt   I use vanilla and add 1 teas cinnamon to mix

Mix all dry ingredients, cut in butter, add yogurt.  Mix. The mixture will be dry but pour out on counter and work in with hands.  Pat into a 7" round and cut into 8 wedges.  Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 375 degrees 10-15  minutes.   Add your favorite glaze.
I am off to drive the truck while we buck some hay.....enjoy the scones!!
